As an egg donor, taking care of yourself is key to making sure it’s a smooth and safe journey.
1. Keep a Healthy Diet
Eating nutritious, well balanced meals is a great way to support your body throughout the process. Focus on foods rich in vitamins, proteins, and healthy fats to keep your energy up and hormones in balance.
2. Stay Active, (But don’t overdo it!)
Exercise is important, but during the egg donation process, it's best to stick with low impact activities like walking or yoga. High intensity workouts can put too much strain on your body, especially after the hormone injections. Be sure to discuss pre and post donation instructions with your doctor to know exactly what you can and can’t do.
3. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Staying hydrated is super important—especially because the medications can cause some bloating or discomfort (like mild cramps). Water helps to flush out any toxins. We can always use more water!
4. Get Plenty of Sleep
Good sleep helps regulate your hormones and gives your body the recovery it needs.
5. Take Care of YOU
Egg donation can be an emotional roller coaster for a few weeks during your injections. Finding ways to relax, whether through meditation, journaling, or spending time with the people you love, can make all the difference.
